You play as a scientist stranded in an underground research facility. In order to survive, you must utilize what you can find in the office to combat enemies and try to facilitate your escape.

Though it can be played solo, multiplayer is really what drew most players into the game, offering great potential for chaos with friends alongside genuinely engaging mechanics. 

The game was a huge hit with critics, and players everywhere were quick to notice just how much of a gem Abiotic Factor is. Just a month after its full release, total sales had rocketed to 1.5 million copies sold, and the game later garnered several nominations, including four at the New Zealand Game Awards, where it wound up taking home the grand prize.
