10. 100% Miss - XCOM 2

XCOM 2, the turn-based strategy about combating aliens, is infamous for its unlucky moments that can change the tide of combat with a single missed shot.

In fact, the game's shown percentages translate so poorly to actual hits or misses on the battlefield that most of the memes about the title are specifically about how 95% accuracy shots miss their targets almost as often as the “less accurate” attacks.

And yet, this still is nothing compared to the rotten luck of missing 100% chance shots.

As if things couldn’t get any more comically worse, it is indeed possible to miss an attack with a supposed 100% chance of hitting. Even if you get all the necessary upgrades, equip your character with cutting-edge items that increase their accuracy, and use special abilities that add more hit chance to their attacks, you can still be unable to hit your target.

It’s rare, much rarer than 95% misses, so when the "perfect" shot misses, most players feel utterly betrayed just before they're forced to watch as their seemingly flawless strategy suddenly falls apart due to absolutely rotten luck.
