20 Unlucky Moments That TOTALLY Ruin Your Game
20. Realistic Deaths - Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Kingdom Come: Deliverance prides itself on its realistic depiction of medieval Bohemia, but its dedication to authenticity can sometimes go a little too far.
If you need convincing, just take a look at the game's hardcore mode.
Kingdom Come’s hardcore mode is a special extra-hard difficulty setting where you begin the story with two permanent debuffs and most of the quality-of-life features taken away.
That is, provided you even manage to start a new campaign on hardcore mode.
The developers thought it would be a funny idea to include special random events that will prematurely kill your character, mimicking the abysmal survival rates of average medieval peasants.
Whenever you start a new hardcore campaign in Kingdom Come, there is a 90% chance you will be greeted by one of the several instant game over screens, describing how Henry didn’t even make it past his infant years in all their gruesome detail.
The good news is that after you read the game over screen, you can immediately try starting the hardcore campaign again.
The bad news is that if you were planning on bragging about having zero deaths in Kingdom Come, your perfect streak was just ruined by a random dice roll.
