Frostpunk is a ruthless survival management game where even the slightest mistake can cost you half of your population as they starve and/or freeze to death in the game’s frozen wasteland.

The 2018 update has introduced the much-anticipated endless mode that allows players to start custom runs without the time restrictions of regular story campaigns.

This said, just because the game allows you to play forever doesn’t mean you will be able to. Because even veteran players can fall victim to the ruthless unpredictability of endless mode’s hazards.

Temporary hazards are special endless mode-only events that trigger at the end of each snowstorm and last until they are replaced with a new hazard in the next cycle. There are nine reoccurring hazards in total, and while this technically means you can anticipate them, in the early stages, surviving one is really only up to chance.

Each hazard is randomly chosen from hazards that haven’t already been activated in your campaign, meaning that the game can throw anything at you after your first storm.

Since each event is meant to completely sabotage one part of your economy, if you're unlucky to roll a hazard that affects a resource you chose as your starting focus, the game can randomly cause your otherwise prospering settlement to fall in a manner of days.
