20 Unlucky Moments That TOTALLY Ruin Your Game

14. Tyrant Softlock - Resident Evil – Code: Veronica

Resident Evil Code: Veronica is considered one of the most difficult titles in the series. Not necessarily because its gameplay is harder than your average Resident Evil, but because the game is filled with game-destroying softlocks.

Most of which happen because you were unlucky enough to encounter them, just like the infamous plane fight softlock.

Code: Veronica is really bad at telling the player when and where they will need specific items. One of these situations is during a plane boss fight with Tyrant.

During the fight, the game expects you to use the B.O.W. grenades and explosive arrows on Tyrant to soften up his health so you can then drop a container on him, shoving him off the plane.

The fight is impossible to finish without at least two grenades and a handful of arrows, but of course, the game doesn’t tell you this.

If you wasted the rounds or you were saving them up in storage, you’re forced to reload back to the point where you still had the required ammo in your inventory, potentially losing hours of progress.

On your first playthrough, it’s impossible to tell if you need the grenades, so becoming a victim of this softlock is completely up to dumb luck.
