11. God of War Laufey

The much anticipated follow-up to God of War Ragnarök is far from the game many were expecting. 

Rather than a direct sequel, the next game is an interquel spin-off starring Kratos' wife Laufey, and taking place during the events of the last two Kratos-led games.

God of War Laufey is set primarily in the transcendent realm of Everywhen, where Laufey wakes up after dying and goes about ensuring her plans to protect Kratos and Atreus remain in place.

In addition to Deborah Ann Woll reprising her role as the title character, Jack Quaid will voice her cosmic cube companion Phranque, and in addition to Norse mythology, the game will also incorporate Egyptian and Mongolian mythologies.

While spin-offs rarely reach the heights of the mainline franchise, it's clear that Santa Monica Studio is treating this with all the love and respect they would a straight-up, Kratos-starring God of War game.

God of War Laufey releases on February 16, 2027.
