3. Precognition

Precognition is the new FMV horror game from the brilliant Sam Barlow, whose previous title Immortality is one of the most creative and talked-about games of recent years.

Expectations are sky-high, then, for Barlow's new project, which sees him collaborate with horror filmmaker Brandon Cronenberg (Possessor, Infinity Pool), who co-wrote the script, for another game centered around video-scouring.

After protagonist Diana receives an experimental implant, she gains the ability to see the future, allowing her to explore myriad possibilities, commit outcomes to memory, and then change the world for better or worse.

With the ability to explore decades of history, Precognition is an especially ambitious time travel story, and considering that each of Barlow's games has been an impressive step up from the previous one, he could very well be cooking up an all-timer here.

If nothing else, it's sure to be one of the most original and boundary-pushing video games of the decade.

Precognition is expected to launch in spring 2028.
