4. Play Dead - Lies of P

Lies of P is the Pinocchio-themed soulslike that shares many similarities with FromSoftware titles, like the different gestures you can unlock throughout the game.

Like in Dark Souls or Bloodborne, these emotes are purely cosmetic, acting as a way for you to communicate your feelings or pose triumphantly after you've defeated a particularly difficult boss.

This said, there is one gesture in Lies of P that's different from the rest, because aside from letting you emote, it can also be used to unlock secrets.

If you own the Overture DLC and visit the Hall of Adventure, you can find a book titled "Discover Wildlife: Bears!" behind the statue of a mammoth.

Reading the book will teach you the "play dead" gesture in reference to what you are supposed to do in an actual encounter with a wild bear.

However, this is only half of the reference, because if you then perform your newly discovered gesture in front of bear enemies, the animals will actually stop acting aggressive. Additionally, performing the gesture near the bear corpse in the nearby enclosure will grant you the rare Half Moonstone upgrade material.

And you thought gestures were only there to make silly poses.
