"Is this not fun anymore? Have I failed to entertain you?" Vaas' introduction and personality throughout the otherwise fairly scattershot-tone of Far Cry 3 is one that elevates the game to a whole new level; mainly because the situation we find ourselves in upon his introduction i.e. being locked in a cage with him taunting us from outside, has such an immediate "I know I'm going to fight this guy later" vibe. Voice actor and likeness-provider Michael Mando does a spectacular job at improvising some small quips and lines of dialogue throughout his performance, but it's here when we realise that the opening fun-loving montage of the game is actually some recorded footage being played back to taunt us that things really got interesting.Walking the line between immediately likeable and terrifying due to sporadic changes in volume and a playfully dark tone of delivery, most of the time if you strike up a conversation with someone around Far Cry 3 it will centre around Vaas Montenegro long before it lands on that of protagonist Jason Brody.
