30 Awesome Reasons To Stay Alive In 2015

12. Ant-Man (July 17)

One of the most controversial projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe line-up, Ant-Man has certainly had an uphill struggle getting made, not only because of its quirky source material, but the departure of Edgar Wright during pre-production, leading to the appointment of inexperienced action director Peyton Reed. Still, with Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas headlining as Ant-Man new and old, it's tough not to get excited about a movie that will hopefully take a similar tone to this past summer's Guardians of the Galaxy. It needs to embrace the absurdity of its premise (a guy who can shrink himself and control swarms of insects) rather than shy away from it, and given how fine a handle Marvel seem to have on their cinematic adaptations, there's little doubt they'll do just that. Though all the news so far points to Ant-Man being a "minor" movie in the MCU, hopefully it'll carve out a fine niche for itself nevertheless.
