Heavy Rain was an interactive adventure-movie, largely known for being as polarising as the argument on correct toilet roll positioning. Regardless of heated debate, the game was enjoyable enough to distract most from the terrible quasi-Boston-South African accents. Fortunately, there's another embarrassing voice acting moment to be found in the game. In an attempt to inject emotion into proceedings the story starts with the protagonist's son (Jason) going missing in the mall. The player is then forced to search the mall and look for the missing brat, whilst having the character continually call out for him. This would be fine if the developers hadn't recorded two versions of the shout, and then looped them over and over again. After a while the continually repeating sound bites cause the whole affair to sound like some Youtube remix. The scene also lacks the emotion punch leader developer David Cage was hoping for. Ethan actually sounds about as concerned as Willy Wonka does every time another kid loses their life in his factory. Oh David, if only you remembered that only polygons equate to emotions.
