Possibly the most badass surrogate parent ever, Auron is unique on this list because of his simple refusal to accept death. Yes, you read that right Auron actually sends the grim reaper packing so he can look after the kids of his two best friends and keep them from making his mistakes. By the end of the game, hes beaten a giant world-wrecking monster twice, all while rocking a sweet pair of shades and wielding a sword so comically oversized it borders on the ridiculous. These are huge accomplishments, but the fact Auron manages to do all of the above while drinking heavily and looking faintly pissed off with everyone just rams it home all the more. Hes just a mans man in both deeds and looks, achieving such spectacular feats as setting his sword aflame with alcohol and sending unworthy opponents into orbit with a baseball-swing of his sword. Effectively, the mans just awesome, and he only rests after hes done saving the world a second time. When youre faced with such ridiculous levels of awesome, all you can is stand up and applaud.
