What to expect from a developer who've proven themselves twice in a row, only to give their code over to Warner Bros. Montreal for one bite of the cherry before regaining control for the big finish? Well, as if it wasn't abundantly clear in the post-release chatter online, people didn't much care for Arkham Origins, despite it having DC scribe Geoff Johns on-hand to make sure everything felt authentic. In the end it just felt like you could tell it wasn't put together by the original team, and that was enough of a turn-off for the masses. For Arkham Knight things look to be far more promising again, and despite some questionable DLC elements with regards to the likes of Red Hood and Harley Quinn being playable characters versus their story involvement, Rocksteady's last hurrah should be a resoundingly positive one. Still, if you've played even a few minutes of Arkham's Asylum or City, you'll know the developer likes to pack their games full of references and easter eggs both big and small, and as they're currently wrapping up development for one last time, it's worth factoring in just how they're going to leave the most memorable of marks on the Batman mythos for all eternity.
