4. Who Are The Specialists?
According to DICE and EA, the Specialists seen throughout the various footage are called "No-Pats".
No-Pats, or the None-Patriated, are essentially mercenaries or regular citizens that have been brought into the fray but hold no real allegiance to a nation or government. Specialists can come from any background or country with four of the confirmed characters hailing from Canada, South Africa, Germany, and Russia.
This is essentially DICE's way of explaining why you might see the same Specialists on opposing forces similar to how games like Overwatch pitches the same characters against one another.
Hopefully, there will be a distinct way to tell enemy Specialists from friendly ones. It is confirmed the game will feature multiple skins for each character but whether that will play into which team they are fighting on is unknown.
