Ah, Ubisoft, the E3 conference we anticipate every year with a combination of excitement and utter dread. On one hand, they occasionally show up with a jaw-dropping new IP like Watch Dogs (no matter its end result), but viewers also have to put up with an avalanche of awkwardness along the way.

This year's conference, for its faults, thankfully kept the embarrassment in check far more than usual, and some extended gameplay glimpses just might leave gamers optimistic for the company's slate moving forward.

Sure, the show won't exactly destroy Ubisoft's reputation as "the new EA" considering their unsavory practices over the last few years, but they also didn't do much to pile any more hate on top of themselves either.

Kicking off with what we didn't like so much, here are 6 ups and 4 downs from Ubisoft's E3 2016 conference...

10. That Painful Just Dance Intro

True to form, Ubisoft ensured their 2016 show wouldn't be without the usual cringe quotient, opening with a wince-inducingly bad dance number set to Queen's immortal Don't Stop Me Now, as promotion for the upcoming Just Dance 2017, of course.

What began with just four dancers quickly grew into dozens of performers, many of whom were kitted out in animal costumes for some reason, and the pain finally, thankfully stopped when Aisha Tyler came out to the stage. Probably the happiest that the E3 crowd has ever been to see her show up, to be honest.

If you were playing the "Ubisoft cringe drinking game", then you at least got off to a strong (and very, very drunk) start.
