8. Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure

Although the point-and-click adventure genre is dead-as-a-doornail, there doesn't seem to be a month that goes by where a small indie studio isn't tipping their hat to it in respect.

Keeping the tradition alive in August is developer Stuck In Attic, whose Noir tale set in a 'Tex Avery meets Lovecraft' world, looks every bit the loving homage to the era of Lucasarts. Not just in mechanics, but also in gorgeously hand-painted animation stylings of the early 90s.

This sort of game isn't for everybody, but there's no shrugging off the passion and imagination put into this upcoming PC release.
