7. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey

The original creator of Assassin's Creed, Patrice Désilets, has been a busy man since he left the series after Brotherhood. That hasn't been due to game making but a slew of bankrupt companies, court battles and general bad luck.

Now finally, after near a decade of not releasing a game, the man has a new title, an odd but intriguing survival title set in the early days of man-as-ape.

Some of the mechanics are a little off-kilter and the title lacks the Triple-A shine to match its epic scope, regardless, it has plenty of fascinating ideas at its core. It will be fun to see if Désilets can actually pull this off?
