Far Cry 5: 10 Things We Can't Wait To Do
6. Take Villages, Not Outposts
By the time many players had pushed their way through the cold climate of Kyrat in Far Cry 4, there was some sense that outposts had reached the end of their life. After all, how many unique features and layouts can enemy camps truly have?
Far Cry 5 is changing the map and gameplay completely - much to the relief of many long-time fans of the series. There won't be traditional enemy outposts but there will be villages that need liberating. It will mean the approach will be different as you aren't just looking for one hole in the fence or rushing through a main gate.
Hopefully the battles will be like the suburban sections of The Last Of Us, where the action is tense and the access through buildings unfamiliar.
Villagers are also sources of information now, as they can give you hints and tips about what's up ahead of you as you travel.
Having the chance to work your way through, around and alongside actual buildings and streets should make the game feel fresh and more strategic that before.
