Though the system certainly takes some getting used to, FIFA 19's changes to gameplay are both noticeable and innovative. Nowhere is this more prevalent than in the game's passing, with driven and lobbed passes, through-balls and crosses all feeling that little bit more genuine.

Players should take extra care and attention to hone their skills this time around, but once they've acclimatised to EA's changes, they'll never look back - especially if they're fond of possession-based, tiki-taka football.

While this isn't to say that FIFA 19's new formula is spot-on in every way (wingers struggling to beat their man was an all too common occurrence), the emphasis on rewarding playmakers for a perfectly timed lobbed pass makes for a refreshing twist.
