1. Why Every Weapon & Item Looks Worse When Shopping

This took me by surprise every time I was at a new weapon vendor:

Why is every new weapon immediately worse for me than what's equipped?

Turns out, all those red 'down arrows' are the new weapon's starting stats, and once you've purchased something, you'll need to dive into the upgrade menu to apply SP points.

Thankfully, every weapon comes with your current level's amount of accrued SP, meaning towards the end of the game you'll have a good 100+ points to spend.

This also means you can continue to spec your characters and weapons in specific ways, rather than be locked into a certain style from the weapon itself. Just don't be put off by what looks like a "worse" weapon, because it will be worth using in time.
