3. Doing Anything With THAT Score

There is a definite temptation to say that Square Enix don't need to do a single thing with the soundtrack of the game, as Nobuo Uematsu created something that was utterly perfect the first time around. One need only look at how iconic Sephiroth's One-Winged Angel theme has become to see that. However, the likelihood is that the game is going to feature new music or - at the very least - remixes of the old soundtrack. This could end up working out, but there is one major problem - Uematsu is yet to be attached to the project.Hopefully that is going to change in the coming months - especially as the game starts to build up some steam - but if Uematsu isn't coming back to score the game then the soundtrack should be left as is, with a couple of new pieces to fill out the extra story elements. After all, many gamers will tell you that one of the defining aspects of the original was the soundtrack. Square Enix will be treading on dangerous ground if they decide to change it.
