Final Fantasy VII Remake: Every Easter Egg & Reference You Probably Missed
20. No Analog Control In The Main Menu
Final Fantasy VII Remake's very first Easter egg occurs before you even start the game proper: the original game's gorgeous main menu has been lovingly recreated down to the finest detail, even to the extent of replicating the 1997 game's limited control scheme.

Because the original FFVII was released almost a year before Sony brought the DualShock Analog controller to market, the game didn't have any support whatsoever for analog sticks.
And so, in a bizarre tribute to that, the remake's main menu also only allows you to navigate using the D-pad of your DualShock 4.
If you're one of the many who instinctively uses the D-pad to navigate menus anyway, you'd probably never even notice.
