8. The Grendels

Sticking with Tyr's temple, after retrieving the Black Rune of Jötunheim, Kratos and Atreus have to fight their way past the Grendels, two trolls respectively called Grendel of the Frost and Grendel of the Ashes.

Grendel was a creature in the Anglo-Saxon poem and legend, Beowulf, and although never specifically identified as a Troll, the creature is often depicted with Troll-like features.

In this scenario, Kratos takes the place of Beowulf as the hero.
