7. E3 Showcase

When God of War was first showcased at E3 2016, the walkthrough ended with a devastating fight with a troll that emerges from beneath a bridge that Atreus and Kratos are crossing.

However in the released version of the game, the troll is nowhere to be found. When crossing the bridge, Atreus says “I half-expected there to be a troll under that bridge”, being a direct reference to the troll's absence from the E3 walkthrough by the developers.

This isn’t the first time a Sony studio has referenced AN E3 demo in the final build. In Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, there is an achievement called Stage Fright that can be unlocked by standing still after a cutscene, which was a reference to when the controller died during the original demonstration
