8. Increased Focus On Multiplayer

No one begrudged the introduction of multiplayer in GTA IV; it gave friends a chance at long last to take on each other in a massive, city wide playground. To see it disappear would be a big shame and likely hurt the game a lot. However, as the release date gets closer, worries are going the other way.

Games such as Halo, Call Of Duty and Battlefield all put their chips on multiplayer and while there€™s plenty of fun to be had, it has lead to a market where single players struggle to find satisfying journeys. GTA has always been a home to that, but with promises that the multiplayer will be as revolutionary as GTA III was for single player gaming, it€™s fair to be a little sceptical.

It€™s unlikely this multiplayer focus will affect GTA V, but if things continue in this way it could seriously affect the balance of the series in the future.
