In the gameplay reveal, NetherRealm made a point of showing off two brand new characters which they believe will become fan favourites. The hooded insect woman is D'Vorah, who appears to be a quick and nimble fighter, capable of using her dragonfly-like wings to traverse the arena at speed. This should open her up to be able to use flight in her attempts to lay the smackdown upon anyone unfortunate enough to be paired up against her. The second new character is by far the most interesting of the two, the hulking great combatant is Torr and upon his back is a pygmy fighter named Ferra, who appears to control, or at the very least, manipulate Torr. It's very much a Hodor/Bran situation (if you're into your Game Of Thrones), with the muscle of Torr laying down huge amount of damage but, most interestingly, his ability to also throw Ferra into the fight and allow her to do some high speed damage. This is where the minion aspect comes in as both D'Vorah and Torr have access to other creatures to help them fight. While Torr has Ferra, D'Vorah can call forth all manner of insect like beasties to help chip away at her opponent's health bars. Elsewhere in the trailer, Scorpion is seen calling forth a demon from hell which reaches up through the floor and holds onto Sub Zero while he unleashes a flaming attack that leaves his frozen counterpart burning and scorched.
