While preparing this article the news broke that, as a result of WWE's new distribution deal with Warner Brothers, NetherRealm Studios are developing a free to play WWE game for Apple and Android devices, WWE Immortals, slated for a 2015 release. While there are some characters from WWE that would feel at home as a guest fighter in Mortal Kombat X (such as The Undertaker, Kane and Bray Wyatt); this deal may have come too late for their inclusion in the upcoming game. Another potential snag is WWE's current PG image and direction; the idea of Kane burning a Mortal Kombat character alive as a fatality does not sit well with this. But it's worth a mention as the team up between WWE and NetherRealm will lead to speculation; and who's to say it can't happen further down the line?
