Most release date predictions seemed to veer towards the end of March, either March 24th or 31st, considering how uncharacteristic it is for a console's ship date to be unveiled this close.

However, Nintendo shocked us all by announcing that it will in fact land on March 3rd, barely a month-and-a-half from now, meaning fans at least won't have to wait long at all to get their hands on the tech.
One can certainly argue that Nintendo should've delayed the platform until it could present a more favourable launch line-up, but after the Wii U dive-bombed so hard, fans really need this as soon as possible.
