10. Backwards Compatibility
Nothing sparks a smugness overload in the Xbox camp like the mention of backwards compatibility.
And why shouldn't they milk this one? Omitting the feature from the PlayStation 4 was shortsighted on Sony's part, and Microsoft has capitalised.
The announcement of Xbox One backwards compatibility was greeted with euphoria at E3 a few years back, and MS has delivered on its promises, bringing more and more yesteryear classics to the machine via regular updates.
Sony, on the other hand, continues to rely on its online storefront and the willingness of its customers to purchases games they already own to deliver its retro fix - and it's about time this changed.
The PS5 must offer some degree of backwards compatibility. Complex hardware architectural differences is apparently the reason our PS4s can't run older PlayStation discs, but Sony has to ensure the PS5 supports PS4 discs.
That's assuming the PS5 even has a disc drive...
