Resident Evil 4 is widely considered one of the best action games of the last few generations but there is one specific part of the game (which is to say a large portion of the game) where Ashley Graham becomes a huge pain in the proverbial for the player. The plot of RE4 revolves around Ashley being taken hostage and being the US President's daughter, is considered important enough for the government to send Leon to save her. As a plot device, she's fairly acceptable and she has some good lines of dialogue (a rare thing for the RE series in general) but the worst thing is that when you encounter her in the game and rescue her, she is in constant need of protection. Ask any gamer and they will tell you that the worst part of any game is an escort mission. Having responsibility for a defenceless character is one of the most frustrating tasks asked of a player and Ashley Graham is the queen of the damsels in distress. In persistent need or protection and hampered with useless AI, she is a thorn in your side from the point you meet her until the very end of the game.
