The development team have been incredibly busy behind the scenes, continuously updating their game with loads of shiny new content. The past few updates alone have introduced new seasons, challenging events, and the Fort Of Fortune, an all-new world event bursting with valuable loot to plunder. But the latest update is the biggest and most exciting yet.

Unveiled at E3 2021, Rare dropped the bombshell that they've partnered with Disney to bring Pirates Of The Caribbean into the game. It's the crossover players have always wanted, a pirate match made in heaven and even better:

The update is completely free and playable right now.

A Pirate's Life enables players to experience an epic, cinematic sea-going adventure, and all whilst staying true to Rare's own vision for the game.

On your way, you'll be met by some familiar faces such as the famed Captain Jack Sparrow and the feared Davy Jones - alongside some more surprises too.

10. Five New Story Quests With A Caribbean Twist

The biggest highlight from this glimmering update is the addition of five massive Tall Tales, Sea Of Thieves' story-driven quests.

So far these awe-inspiring adventures have whisked venturous crews to the fabled Shores Of Gold and put them head-to-head against the ruthless Captain Flameheart. But now players get to experience something completely different.

Jack Sparrow has stolen a valuable pirate treasure that has allowed him to cross into the world of Sea Of Thieves. But he hasn't come alone. He's been pursued by the formidable Davy Jones, and you and your crew are about to be swept up in Sparrow's newest misadventure and save the seas from a terrible fate.

Bringing cinematic flare to your voyages, these Tall Tales provide an ambitious narrative experience bursting with exciting set pieces, puzzles to solve, and various other secrets to uncover. In the first instalment, for example, players will run into a talkative skull who can help you get your hands on some extra treasure - as long as you keep your eyes peeled, that is.

Whether you want to play alone or with friends, the new Tall Tales can be accessed at the Castaway's Camp on any of the Outposts.
