36. Diddy Kong
He's back again, and about time too, and this time he's in the mood. He can fly real high with his jetpack on, with his pistols out, he's one tough Kong! And a dreadful character.
37. Lucas
Nintendo still haven't localised Mother 3, but that hasn't stopped Lucas reappearing. His friends Kumatora and Boney aid in his Final Smash, but you probably don't know who they are. Localise Mother 3, you rotters!
38. Sonic
Sadly, SEGA's spiny speedster still looks decidedly Sonic '06 in Smash Ultimate. God willing, there'll be some Sonic Mania-themed content to go with him this time around.
39. King Dedede
Penguins come in three forms: cute but hapless, chocolate bar salespeople, and evil kings. King Dedede falls in the latter category. In addition to a cage-match themed Final Smash, the Dream Land ruffian can now inhale and spit Gordos at opponents. Yuck.
40. Olimar
The Hocotate homewrecker's helmet now begins to crack open as he takes damage. Good. Serves him right.
