Mass Effect: Andromeda's anticipation boils down to one question: Can Bioware save their own franchise?
Following the monumental disaster that was the end of that game's trilogy, you have to wonder if the mainstream populace think of Mass Effect as a permanently tarnished franchise. I mean, just look at Titanfall 2's sales, Watch Dogs 2's complete lack of a positive reception, or Assassin's Creed: Syndicate being completely overlooked following AC: Unity.
Andromeda sounds phenomenal so far - and hopefully we'll see some footage at The Game Awards to justify the hype - but for all intents and purposes, it should be (and needs to be) a return to form.
