5. All Other Racers - Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing

Ok so let’s just start by clarifying a few things.

Now normally you might not consider “other racers” from a racing game as true video game enemies, however when you think about it, how many other faceless goons can cause you this much anger and stress?

You might never have even seen the shadow of the fiend behind the wheel of number 12 but the fact that they’ve just cut you up on the final corner means that you’ll be following him home with a can of gasoline and a book of matches.

God that got dark. You know what I mean though.

Another point that we need to clarify is that Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing is a video game that has a few...issues. Well if we’re being honest the game has enough bugs to make a Bethesda title look competent and has so many bafflingly broken features that I genuinely feel like the title is actually an elaborate prank on anyone who buys it.

From being able to reverse so quickly that you can actually reach the speed of light, to even the name of the game becoming a mockery seeing as you drive through and under most of the roads rather than “over” them, Big Rigs is a wild ride.

Yet it’s “enemies”? Well, they take both the cake and the piss.

And why is that? Well because they can’t finish the races you’re taking part in. Yes, that’s right, in this game the other drivers, even if they somehow get in front of you, never cross the finish line before you do, meaning that you can never ever lose and thus they present absolute bagel percent of a challenge.

It genuinely does my brain harm to think about what the hell was going on with this. And speaking of losing one's mind….
