Nate is renowned for his proficiency with the ladies, but Elena Fisher consistently eludes his rugged grasp. It's been a common feature of the Uncharted series to have the two going back-and-forth, with their shockingly unstable relationship often proving the true emotional backbone of each game. But, after numerous hook-ups, break-ups and marriages, it's time to accept the inevitable; the two are destined for each other, and this is what Naughty Dog intended from the start. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune ended with the pair sailing off into the sunset, implying that they were very much an item - but in the opening scenes of Uncharted 2, it's off the cards, with Nate leading the solo life and playing the field with fiery Aussie fortune-hunter Chloe Frazer. In Uncharted 3, Nathan sports what appears to be a wedding ring, but the couple are seemingly not involved in such a fashion. This indecisiveness is extremely annoying, and it needs to stop. Pre-release Uncharted 4 footage has shown that the two are married, but rocky, yet again. Naughty Dog are playing the 'will they/won't they' card, and it's a hand they've used one too many times. The romantic deal has to be sealed, if only to save the player the frustration of reliving an experience they've had multiple times.
