Ok, so DLC is all the rage in the video game world nowadays, and that doesn't seem set to change any time soon. "Micro Transactions" are a sneaky way for developers to squeeze just a little bit more money from the pockets of players, who surely won't mind if the price is kept reasonable and small. Charging for extra content after release is fine, if it's worth it, but all too often it isn't. For example, why weren't Divas such as Paige or male performers like Adam Rose offered as part of the initial package? Asking fans to fork out more money just to play as these characters is not cool, and represents the cheapness of publishers, with-holding pre-existing just so they can charge for it later on. Needless to say, it didn't always used to be this way, WWE games used to be very much value for money. Before the world went DLC crazy, the games featured more unlockable content, stuff which rewarded the player for, y'know, playing the actual game. There are still a few wrestlers and arenas unlocked in this old-school fashion, but there needs to be more. One example would be Smackdown vs. Raw 2006, whereby guys like Bret Hart and other legendary characters were unlocked during a nifty storyline in the Career Mode.
