10 Horror Movies That Suck So Bad You Can't Believe They Got Made

7. The Resort

If you were friends with a horror fiction writer who asked you to come with her to an abandoned hotel on a remote island to investigate reports of a ghostly presence, would you go?

If you said "no", then congratulations! You are officially smarter than the characters in 2021's The Resort.

Lex and her friends quickly find out that ghost hunting isn't as fun as Scooby-Doo makes it out to be, as they end up trapped in the creepy locale with the mythical Half-Faced Girl hot on their heels. They get picked off one by one in increasingly gruesome manners, making for a fairly straightforward horror narrative.

Still, straightforward doesn't always mean bad.

Even at just 75 minutes long, The Resort feels like it's constantly running out of ideas. Even the villain isn't particularly interesting, despite having a name that sounds like it belongs in the pantheon of great horror monsters.

It turns out that isn't enough - who knew?

It just didn't come together for this one, which is a real shame, as it had all the components to be decent.
