10 Most Surprising Deaths in Horror Movies

8. Michael Tucker - Death Warmed Up

Death Warmed Up is a delightfully disturbing, horribly grotesque, charmingly low-budget sci-fi horror from the '80s. This New Zealand cult classic tells the story of a very unfortunate man, Michael, who seeks revenge against the mad scientist who tested mind-control drugs on him that forced him to kill his parents. Oh, and this scientist is making zombies; there really is a lot going on.

Michael and three friends storm the mad scientist's island clinic to neutralise the threat, battling the mind-controlled zombies and eventually taking the villain down. After going through all of that, Michael returns home, minus only two companions.

While it's clear that something still isn't right and that the evil persists, you can rest easy in the knowledge that at least two of the characters survived the movie. Then, boom, their place is on fire, and Michael is electrocuted to death by a fallen electrical wire.

This absolutely unexpected death, positioned right at the end of the movie, is a testament to how unforgiving this flick really is.
