10 Scrapped Horror Movie Monsters That Would Have Been Terrifying

5. The Tree Monster - Never Let Go

Supernatural entities can take all kinds of different forms when it comes to being presented on screen. There is the classic poltergeist or ghost, spirits with familiar faces haunting with a purpose, or it could even come down to what the individual seeing it fears.

In 2024 came Never Let Go, an outing that didn't particularly set the world on fire either critically or commercially, but it did include enough to give audiences an uncomfortable ride. This was largely down to The Evil.

This entity is one that haunted Halle Berry's Momma and her two children, presenting itself in different forms. Typically, this came as people from Momma's past, though there was a deleted scene in which she would have encountered a vile tree monster, something akin to a sick and twisted version of an Ent, with a transforming snake for a head.

Clearly, the CGI in the scene above was far from finished, but even here it gives enough of an idea that this would have been pure nightmare fuel. Particularly with The Evil largely showing itself as human, this beast would have been particularly shocking. However, it would have arguably stuck out a little too much, and it's understandable why it ended up on the cutting room floor.
