10 Worst Horror Movies Of 2026 (So Far)

8. Psycho Killer

To preface this entry, it must be incredibly difficult to bring something new to the slasher genre in the modern day, after so many decades, classic killers, and equally uninspiring copycats. However, that being said, it feels as though Psycho Killer didn't even try.

Having spent a long time in developmental hell, the film was ultimately as bland and unoriginal as its title. There was nothing to get excited about throughout this particular 90 minutes, no shocking twists or turns, and some laughably poor reading of an even worse script.

If this had stayed generic, it would have been a waste of everybody's time, but ultimately forgivable and forgettable. Unfortunately, Psycho Killer actively lowered the genre as a whole, with more eye rolls than jump scares, bordering on the point of parody. All this sealed up with a cringeworthy finale that made sure audiences left with a bad taste in their mouths.

Written by Andrew Kevin Walker, most notable for penning Seven, there may have been an expectation for Psycho Killer to be better than it is, but any such hopes were quashed almost instantly. Georgina Campbell is the only one who comes out with any kind of credibility from this project, as her performance deserved much more from literally every other aspect around her.
