20 Awesome Horror Movies With No Sequels

11. Kill List

Ben Wheatley's Kill List is a sublimely unforgettable experience - an apparent crime thriller which progressively segues into horror territory before finally lurching into full-tilt folk horror in its final stretch.

Though not a huge success at the box office, Kill List remains a fond favourite among fans of low-budget horror, courtesy of its gut-wrenchingly unnerving atmosphere, its masterful editing, and the excellent central performances from Neil Maskell and Michael Smiley.

The film ends on such an elliptical and ultimately mysterious note, which is really just the tip of the dramatic iceberg, that many would surely be interested in a follow-up.

But there's also something to be said for letting Kill List's utterly savage mic-drop of an ending speak for itself.

It's nothing if not a conversation starter, and it's safe to say that a Kill List 2, in presumably demystifying the climax, probably wouldn't prove nearly as enticing. And above all else, Wheatley has very clearly moved on.
