20 Awesome Horror Movies With No Sequels

8. Trollhunter

Trollhunter is, in a word, awesome - a brilliantly inventive found footage film centered around a group of Norwegian student filmmakers who find themselves staring down, yes, a big-ass troll.

Director André Øvredal does a clever job disguising his evidently low budget and yet still manages to give the audience an impressive amount of bang for their buck, ensuring that Trollhunter has endured as a cult genre fave ever since.

Even with Hollywood pursuing an eventually-cancelled remake that was set to be helmed by Neil Marshall, fans continue to cling to hope that, one day, Øvredal might give us Trollhunter 2.

But Øvredal has clearly moved on, having enjoyed a prolific career directing modest genre films ever since, and with Netflix's own Troll movies becoming global mega-hits, it's fair to say that they've basically stolen Trollhunter's thunder.

And yet none of this takes away from the fact that Trollhunter still stands tall as a uniquely creative found footage romp.
