19. Tom Prinze - Scream 3

In the eyes of many, Scream 3 marked the point at which the franchise began to indulge in some of the over-the-top cliches you'd expect to find in a Stab movie, but it did at least give us one of the series' most entertainingly ridiculous death scenes.

Poor Tom Prinze (Matt Keeslar), the actor cast as Dewey (David Arquette) in Stab 3, runs back into Jennifer Jolie's (Parker Posey) house to retrieve a fax - remember those? - being sent to the group by Ghostface.

However, as he flicks on his lighter to read what it says, we realise that Ghostface has flooded the house with gas, causing the flame to trigger a massive explosion, instantly blowing Tom and the entire gorgeous property to smithereens.

It's pretty much Looney Tunes territory for the franchise, but it's a fun kill regardless and does at least provide a welcome change from the usual spate of stabbings and shootings.
