11. The Invitation

Karyn Kusama's The Invitation ends with the horrifying reveal that the murderous cult at the core of the story is more far-reaching than it seems. 

No, their rampage isn't isolated to this one house, as in the final moments we hear sirens and screams elsewhere in the vicinity, all while a helicopter descends upon the scene.

In the very least, the cult has a deep network in the California area and it's fair to assume that a lot of people were ritualistically killed on this very night.

But that's ultimately a pretty optimistic read of things, and it's entirely possible the cult's reign of terror is far more wide-reaching than that. What if such massacres took place all over the United States, or perhaps even the globe?

A co-ordinated series of mass slayings worldwide is about the most terrifying thing imaginable, and though the film doesn't tell us how far the cult's influence goes, we're certainly left plenty of runaway to imagine.
