20 Horror Movies That Are FINALLY Happening
12. Crawl 2
2019's Crawl absolutely isn't a horror film that begged for a sequel, but as creature features go, it was a damn fun time, and per Paramount's interest grossed almost $100 million worldwide.
Following the film's success, director Alexandre Aja revealed that a sequel was in the works centered around entirely new characters, and by 2021 he confirmed that the script was now being written. By 2024, Aja was set to return as director, but for the next two years we heard precious little in the way of meaningful updates, apart from the plot revolving around animals escaping from New York's Central Park Zoo during a violent storm.
This truly seemed like one of those sequels that might just stall indefinitely, but recently Sam Raimi provided an update that regime changes at Paramount caused a delay on the greenlight. With things now ironed out, Raimi is hopeful that shooting will start soon, because if history has taught us anything, it's that moviegoers will reliably flock to killer animal movies. Let's go.
