20 Horror Movies That Are FINALLY Happening

13. Flesh of the Gods

Flesh of the Gods is a new gothic supernatural horror film from the brilliant Panos Cosmatos, best known for his films Beyond the Black Rainbow and Mandy, and, of course, that incredible episode of Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities.

Given that Mandy was released back in 2018, there's been enormous interest in the cult filmmaker's next project, and his new vampire horror-thriller was officially announced in May 2024, with Kristen Stewart, Oscar Isaac, and Elizabeth Olsen set to star. Despite the buzzy cast, by the end of last year Cosmatos was still struggling to find funding for it - likely a by-product of his less-than-commercial stylistic and narrative tendencies.

It would've surprised few if Flesh of the Gods became another infuriatingly unrealised film, then, but thankfully at the start of May it was announced that Cosmatos had gotten the money and finally started rolling cameras, with Wagner Moura replacing Isaac, and Esmé Creed-Miles subbing in for Olsen.
