20 Horror Sequels That Were Just Announced

9. Puppet Master 16

When the original Puppet Master was released in 1989, nobody could've imagined the IP enjoying such mind-boggling longevity - no, not even legendary B-movie producer Charles Band.

To date, the series has produced 15(!) films - 11 mainline entries, two spin-offs, one crossover, and a reboot - with the most recent installment being 2022's Puppet Master: Doktor Death. And while the lack of word on a new Puppet Master over the last four years perhaps signalled that the low-budget franchise was finally out of gas, a new report states that Band has closed a deal with Blumhouse for a Puppet Master reboot.

Quite what this entails is anyone's guess, but considering Blumhouse's aptitude for producing horror hits for a pittance, the studio is probably a good fit for the franchise.

That's assuming they stick to practical effects and don't go the CGI puppet route, of course.
