8. We're Wolves

What We Do in the Shadows is one of the most hilarious horror-comedies of all time - a riotous vampire-centric mockumentary from Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi.

It also didn't take long for the duo to confirm development of a sequel, We're Wolves, set to focus on the werewolf characters briefly introduced in the first film. And though fans have been kept busy with two hit spin-off TV series in the 12 years since, the lack of updates on We're Wolves suggested that it had basically been scrapped amid Clement and Waititi's increasingly busy schedules.

But not quite.

Back in June, Clement confirmed that he and Waititi had finally started writing the sequel, and estimated that the script would be ready by next year.

While that doesn't mean We're Wolves will also start shooting in 2027, it's the most encouraging update we've had so far that this thing is actually going to happen within a matter of years.
