20 Horror Sequels That Were Just Announced
20. V/H/S/Mixtape
Since its resurrection in 2021, the V/H/S horror anthology franchise has been an annual fixture around Spooky Season, and though the quality of the installments has varied wildly, even the worst entries typically still deliver a short or two worth checking out.
But with a new V/H/S film still not being announced by the start of this year, just as it was confirmed that the franchise had been acquired by Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Abu Dhabi, it seemed like 2026 might serve as a fallow year for the franchise.
Yet in early August, V/H/S/Mixtape was finally confirmed to release this October, with segments to be directed by Ernest Dickerson (Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight), RZA (The Man with the Iron Fists), Flying Lotus (Ash), and David Moreau (Mads).
One of the shorts will feature puppets from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, and with this anthology being audio-centric, heavy metal band GWAR has been confirmed to appear.
