20. The BRUTAL Runtime - Lee Cronin's The Mummy

While it's fair to say that Lee Cronin's The Mummy was largely deemed a disappointing follow-up to his Evil Dead Rise, critics and horror fans alike might've been more eager to overlook its myriad flaws were it more editorially disciplined.

It's pretty rare for horror movies to clock in at more than two hours in length, and with a beefy 132-minute runtime, Cronin's film needed to absolutely earn that extended play.

But ultimately many came away from The Mummy feeling that it could've shed 20-30 minutes without losing anything substantial - quite the opposite in fact.

Again, the oft-questionable character decisions would've been easier to overlook if this was a pacy 100-minute sprint, but instead its issues are compounded by the fact it's also a stamina-obliterating slog.

Every movie should of course be as long as it needs to be, but it's honestly shocking that Warner Bros. didn't force Cronin to kill his darlings and bring this in well under two hours.
